This is a different perspective of the same tree or scene that Lon Overacker and I were shooting in Yosemite a few weeks ago. I’m always amazed that you can have a hand full of photographer’s in one area and all come away with so many different Images. Thanks for the inspiration Lon.
C&C always welcome.

I like the way you used a shallow dof to make the orange leaves pop in front of the yellow bg.

Interesting and original.

I like the orange leaves and dark branches but the OoF yellow leaves distract for me.

Kyle, I with Eva on this. You might consider pulling back the yellows a little on the background, so it is not such an eye magnet. I like the effect of the OOF, but my eye is strongly pulled to that BRIGHT patch of yellow.

Kyle,

I love this as much as Lon's. Great take on this tree. The shallow DOF is nice, but I wish it was even narrower. Great color.

I really like this, Kyle. Most photographers don't think of doing
fall color in Yosemite this way. This certainly works.

I like your different take on this scene. Teh shallow dof works well with only the echo of the yellow tree. Beautiful work.

Hey Kyle,

We sure had some fun with this beautiful setting and the colors in general this year in the Valley were outstanding.

I really like your interpretation here, tighter, simpler and as others have mentioned the selective focus and somewhat shallow depth of field really brings emphasis to the dogwood.

I can see what Harley and others are saying about the bright yellow background. I think it's less of an issue for me because I was there and have the same background in my image as well. Having said that, you probably could selectively lighten the "lights" if you chose to.

Very nice shot, different then otherst, I think a would have stepped an bit to the right and would have used the yellow BG for contrast behind the red leaves.
