459 - Peaceful Passage

The eagles and gulls are always competing for the salmon stranded by the low tide and for obvious reasons, the gulls are usually pretty cautious when they get close. In this case these two just strolled past each other without so much as a glance.

This is a vertical crop from a horizontal photo (for composition).

Sony DSC-F707, ISO-100, f5.0, 1/1000

Beautiful image, Gary. I love the uninterested attitude of the gull and the sense of power generated by the eagle. :toast:
Great idea on the title of my post. I've changed it.

Amazing depth you got on this sweet shot. I was contemplating a different crop before I read your info. and after looking a couple of times I think you did well with the crop.

I like how you appear to have kept detail in both birds. The eagle's pose is beautiful.

An interesting juxtaposition, and nice shot! Maybe a chickadee might have been better for the theme, but ill buy this.

Dan, I know what you're saying. There's the old rule that the subject should be entering the frame rather than leaving it but what do you do when you have two subjects going opposite directions? There just didn't seem to be any choice other than centered

Stan; go easy on me now. The rules say large and small, it doesn't specify a particular ratio
