Yup, another Lynx from the Bavarian Forest NP. Here we actually had a little sun for a minute or two!

I also did a repost on my last image, see it at: http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/ic.cgi?a=vp&pr=160290&CGISESSID=07af3fd452fdb3f41168526282fdaefe&u=12138

Nice detail, and it's great how the brown tones blanket the lynx (even in the eyes). For some odd reason its pose is bothering me though... maybe the big mound of back and rump on the right is throwing me off. Hard to explain, sorry. My favorite element of the image is those diagonal lines in the background. It's really a nice backdrop, and I almost get a sense that if the cat were reversed (head on the right... again, one of those things you can't control) it would come together perfectly.

Love this. That background really helps. The stick stands out really strongly to me and seems like an easy clean-up if it is in your ethics. What a beautiful animal.

Hi Jorne,

The colour of the lynx is beautiful and you captured it in a great setting. I tend to agree with Max that the pose isn't stellar (no fault of your's!) and that the diagonal flow of the background is great. Personally I'd like to see just a little more white-on-white detail in the foreground and a little less background (to my eye there's just TOO MUCH background there - I'd experiment with cropping off about 1/3 of out-of-focus trees in the background). The twig in the foreground doesn't bother a bit..

Thanks for sharing this one Jorne...

I love that face and the details in the fur. This must be an amazing place in which to photograph the wildlife.

Nice shot. I think the techs are very good. I might take some off the top. I don't mind the body position. To me it seems the Lynx is stopping to look but keeping its option to leave open.
Very cool.

Really like this - the indent in the snow sets the cat off perfectly.
The pose is fine for me , and the BG of pines and snow adds a lot of interest.
