The shell

Every picture tells a story so they say, well, this one certainly does.
Taken in Jan 2008 on a meeting of about 30 photographers from all over the UK from a certain website that we were all members of.

On the way down to sea level I went head first down a steep boulder field and with the added weight of my camera gear on my back I landed on my upper chest right onto a large boulder, boy did it hurt.
People gathered around and helped me up, I was in terrific pain but was too proud to show too much, it's a macho thing you know
Yeah, stupid I know.

I refused to be taken to hospital and continued with the meet and even took some photos.
I went off on my own cos the pain was unbearable.
When I took this shot I was actually laying down on my stomach but had a job to get back up lol.

Went to the hospital the following morning and yep, broken ribs, right in the middle on the upper sternum.

I put this in the Man and Nature gallery because I left some of the other people in the distance to add a sense of scale.

Splendid image Geoffrey. I like the perspective and selective color of the shell. The people do provide a wonderful sense of scale.

Sorry to hear of your fall.

Nice artistic image with a real feeling of depth. I will be nice and not comment on the not so bright action by the photographer. I hope everything healed and you are back to full strength again. Rich
