Willie Wagtail
by Rob Drummond
Here's another from a couple of years ago. I didn't process it at the time because I thought it was a little tight. I was on my tummy in a hide and it just kept coming towards me.
Willie Wagtails are possibly the most widespread species in Australia and they spend a significant amount of time on the ground or, as in this case, shallow water, as they flush insects.

I've lost the original files so I don't know the shooting data

Well captured.

Excellent job on the exposure Rob, with super detail in both the black and the white plumage. I too would like to see just a little more room around the bird, but thats just a personal taste thing I guess. Good job.
Andy...
Its not often you have to moan about birds getting too close
Just a bit too centered for my own taste, but just fine as is.

I like this a lot as posted, it is fun to see a wagtail in the shallow water. Lovley details, exposure and sharpness. Love your low angle on this too.
