Buachaille Etive Glow

Glencoe, SCOTLAND

Pre-dawn glow on this Scottish icon which was rather nice on the warm fall colours. It's been shot to death but I wanted to emphasise the egg-like submerged rocks.

Canon 5DMkII, 16-35mm 2.8L, ISO 100, f14, 30s, warming polarizer, GND filter.

I do recognize the spot (not by experience) but the glow is different from others Ive seen.
Seems like the bottom half was in shadow would it be cooler or maybe your choice of wb + warm polarizer rendered it that way. Great job and awesome location for sure

Beautiful Image Kah, I wouldn't mind seeing what it looked like with the bottom half just a tad cooler as suggested.

Fantastic as is though.

Very cool! I like the deep orange glow which gives a surreal look to the scene. Nice comp and light. The upper left waterfall appears to have a red fringe on the left and the mountain might have a cyan fringe on the left side as well. Chromatic abberation or a jpeg artifact? Anyway, easily fixable if needed. Great shot! :toast:

Might have been some CA, I'll have to check. The whole scene was bathed in a pink glow so no cool colours here.

Beautiful image Kah! I have seen a few shoots of this, but this is the first I have seen in the fall. Personally I like the warm tones; it fits the season and the time of day well.

I recognize the place from Ian Cameron's posts, but the light is entirely original . . . and I really like this light.

Wonderful, Kah. I love the warm tones on the landscape and how the water glows inbetween the rocks.

Interesting scene, KK, i really like the warm colorcast here too! That tree kind of gets in the way for me, but it's not like you could do anything about it short of a chain saw... Overall, this is a definite winner!

Beautiful comp with the small rivulets leading into the frame. Such rich color backed by just a touch of cool blue sky. Lovely. :toast:

Nice shot Kah Kit. I like the soft light and the arrangement of the fg falls. The pink/blue sky is quite beautiful in combination with the rich brown/orange of the land.

Nice comp and tones. I wouldn't mind seeing the peak off-set to the right a bit so that it wasn't dead-centre. :toast:

Yes, a familiar scenebut not similar to what I've seen before. I like the reddish color from the fall colors. That and the over all warmth of the scene makes this different.

Iconic view of course but Scotland has so many moods that though the outlook is the same the mood and atmosphere changes from day to day. The warm light here makes it very different and uniquely atmospheric.
