This was one of the most amazing skies I have had the opportunity to see let alone shoot. There were a few of us that met up this morning to shoot this one and we were all buzzing afterwards.

The sky has had only the most minor adjustments to it and certainly not a saturation boost. This is a composite image mainly due to the grads that I used for the foreground shot darkened the headland on the left to an unsatisfactory point. I also had several skies with different grad setups that I had used to try and capture the headland so picked the best of those also.

I think I may have been a little disorganised in the excitement lol.

Beautiful sky indeed, and you did a great job capturing it. Too bad you put this in Man and Nature, which for whatever reason is not looked at by most members. I think you could bring some more detail (light) into the upper left corner and increase the contrast on the water flowing over the midground shelf. Good way to catch a rare sunset!

Beautiful. I don't see any hand of man, though. Great water motion, and the vibrant colour really makes this pop.

Thanks for the comments guys. I could probably have put this in Earth, Sea and Sky but in the top left corner there are a few buildings that I left quite dark deliberately but they're there nonetheless.

It's funny, quite a few people have mentioned this looks like a sunset but it's actually sunrise.

Fantastic sky and water motion Andrew! Some very nice light on the water as well BTW - I don't see the hand of man either but I'll take your word for it.

Spectacular water motion and sky. The processing looks spot on.
