Dunes Layers III

A couple people said they wanted to see more of the snow on the dunes in previous posts form this day a couple weeks back--so here's one from about half hour before sunset, when the clouds were off the dunes. I forgot to clean up the dust spots here--my bad!

A pleasant play of various forms, accentuated by restriction to only few colors!

The dune shots really become a "thing" of yours, Stan - and that's a good thing cause you really did some great shots about that topic. Love this one too and as in many of your other shots the scaling works very well in this one. Keep them coming.

I've never seen the Dunes portrayed like this. I like it, Stan. Good
adherence to the rule of thirds and great colors and lines.

Stan,

Your series of dune images I have had the pleasure of seeing posted have allowed me to be there under all conditions. This scene with the dusting of snow on the dunes is refreshing, a juxtaposition of warm and cold. The first thing that pops to mind upon thinking dune is desert and heat, nice to see them in a winter blanket. Thanks for sharing ( all of your dune images)

Another beauty, Stan. Like Paul, when I think of dunes I think of desert and being hot, so seeing this with snow is really cool. I like the clouds hanging in there also. Really nice!

Cool, the snow really does show off the contours in the various layers much better. Nice work again.

Beautiful image, Stan. I'm curious about the lens. Was this a non-L series lens, or the new 70-300 L series? The image looks quite sharp...but maybe an expert processor like yourself doesn't need the best glass??

Beautiful image, Stan. Love that contrast of color between the snow on the dunes and the sand. excellent composition with nice layers and great balance with the clouds on the left center countering the bulk of the mountain on the right. Outstanding.

Super cool as always, Stan! You have some great layering, some great light and the fog and the snow are the extra ingredients that make this one so special.

This is a stunner Stan, the cloud above the dunes couldn' be better positioned. The layers of totally different terrains look excellent together.

Thanks folks!
Jeremy--no, i was too far away and maxing out my tele here. But ive taken close-ups with similar conditions--the only thing on my to-do list is to be up there while the snow is coming down hard
Ernie--just the regular EF IS USM here. I like the lens--it gives me very sharp images even at 300 mm. The key is to use a remote and MLU.

Beautiful image Stan.
Really like the warm color of your contrasting FG & the clouds hanging there over the mtns. The clash of warm vs cold works very well.
I see your purchase link takes you to your website home..Why not directly to the image? Just curious. I try to make it as easy as possible for an impulse buyer to spend.
Just got the first print sale from a customer who was driven to my site through the NPN "Purchase a Print" gallery yesterday.
Anyway, it's "99.999%" Well done :toast:

Love the compressed layers here. With the dunes right up against the mtns, the viewer definitely gets a sense of scale. The light on the dunes is pretty awesome as well!
