Snow Laden

Taken trailside in the northern Adirondacks yesterday and yes the snow’s still coming down. My initial inclination was to process this B&W…but also providing a larger version in color – that I prefer. C&C welcome, thanks for looking.

I like both versions and can appreciate how difficult it is to get a good image with the flat lighting on a cloudy winter's day. Well done.

I am generally a B&W fan, but in this case, the color version is working better for me. Nice comp and colors. Nice job of making order out of chaos.

The different tone trunks add a lot of viewability to this. Just enough variation to increase the interest level.

I prefer the color version! The muted color of the leaves really makes this scene for me. That said, the B&W conversion is well done and interesting, also!

Color version gets my vote. It seems to have more depth than the b/w version.

Ron,

Ooooohhh, the color version is wonderful. The trunks alone stand out much better between each other with the different tones, but the remnants of the autumn leaves put this over the top for me. Add the monochrome background and the subtle winter colors and this one wins hands down for me.

the only suggestion I have would be to crop up from the bottom about 2/3 of the snow at the bottom, leaving enough breathing room at the bottom of the trunks. With that, this one is a big time winner. I absolutely LOVE the larger, color version. Congrats! :toast:

Very nice, Ron. The b/w looks good, but I really like the color version myself. I think it is wonderful. You really put this comp together nice! Good work.
