Chick Landing

Another image from the park outside the city. I don't know if this chickadee is concentrating on his landing or the food. At any rate I thought it was a fun shot.

Nikon D300s, 300 lens, tripod, f 6.3, 1/1600, ISO 320

Thanks for looking and critiques appreciated.

Dynamic shot... looks like you would have needed to bump the ISO to really get it tack sharp.

There's just a pleasing amount of blur in this image, May. These little guys are so fast and irregular in their flight. It's quite an accomplishment to obtain as nice a shot as this one. :toast:

Love the image. Sharp at the head and eye-just where you need it, but nice motion blue. Look like he's jumping for joy.

What an amazing shot! Love the amount of motion blur and the sense of complete suspense so evident to me in this image. I know it's going to touch down safely because the branch and the feets are right there where they should be, but criminy, it's that split second of doubt… Killer shot! :toast: :toast: :toast: for the Pick.

This very sharp photo really gives a feel for the flighty nature of this species, never resting too long in one spot. Excellent perch and background to go along with the Chicadee. Congratulations on the the EP!!! :toast:

Congrats on the EP. This is a wonderful image with super action. Chickadees are kind of the ADHD of the avian world. This image shows this characteristic.

He sure has his eye on SOMEthing!
Nice detail in the head and eye, and the blur of the legs and claws gives a nice sense of motion. Nice perch, perfect comp and BG.
