Stormy Grasp of Light

This is my first post after quite a while as I'm getting ready for my east to west coast move. Here, Down Under is almost as big as in US ;)

I took that photo quite some time ago on Sydney's Maroubra Beach. It is a quite famous place for Oz "sunrise chasers". For some reason I missed that photo in my usual "post session" review.
That morning was really spectacular! Photo crowded (as always) but each person packed up and went home soon after the sunrise. Patience is a virtue!

There has been not-a-very-substantial amount of post production. Most of it was done in Camera RAW and in PS using Tony Kuypers techniques (thanks again Tony).

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :) Any feedback will be as always appreciated so thanks for looking and your time.

Some spectacular light here Tom, which works very well with the moody sky and movement in the water. Great scene and well captured I say! Good luck with the move! :wavey:

Great mood and drama, Tom. The water action looks great. Looks like you have some distortions on the poles on the left - you could correct that. Usually we post shots with human creations in the Man & Nature category - just remember that for future posts.

Tom the water motion captured up front is awesome. I am so jealous of photographers that get down to the ocean to photograph. It's a tough exposure that you handled well. It is too bad the posts and chains are in the view though.Cheers

Terrific wave action and the broody sunrise sky looks great. The light reflecting in the sea is a great addition to the scene.

Gary.

@Andreas, thanks! You are correct about the distortion. I will get on it and correct it. Sorry for posting here. I'll make sure I'll post on the correct gallery next time:)

Tom,

Thanks for posting. What dynamic seascape. Great motion in the surf with a dramatic sky. A little dark in the UR, but if anything that adds to the mood here.

Although I'm a little late, I am going to go ahead and move this to the Man & Nature gallery. While the "structure" isn't the main subject, it's fairly prevalent and obvious. Hope that makes sense, and no worries!

Lon

Love the drama Tom especially the light rays and threatening sky. Nice wave motion as well. Andreas already mentioned the perspective correction but overall a fantastic image.

Took me a time to realize this one was moved to M&N already. The distortion correction looks much better to me. Well done, Tom. Thanks again for the donation regarding my script.
