Hi All

Having a crack at posting on this forum, not sure if I have got it right but here goes.

A Waxwing image from the weekend.

As always critique welcome.

Teckhs Nikon D300. 300mm f4 & 1.7tc, worked through lightroom and sharpened in photoshop.

Thanks for looking :biggrin

The bird is sharp and the perch is nice. The background is distracting to me. The area on the bottom takes my eye away from the bird.

Great pose with the berry and I really like the graded blues in the background. Personally I'd prefer more light on our side of the bird. Welcome to Avian Shaun.

HI Shaun: Welcome to NPN! Nice pose and perch for this Waxwing. Food in the beak is an added bonus. Bird feels a bit dark. For me the background with the gable of the building is a bit distracting.

I like the shot, Shaun. It just needs a little more light on the front of the bird, maybe a little fill flash might have helped. As for the gable, I suppose it puts the bird in context as to where we find Waxwings in the UK, I'd say that 90% of these birds are found in a urban enviroment.
