Epic Journey

While setting up for a shot in Zion's Narrows, I saw hikers approaching and thought it might be cool to show some scale and include the last hiker in the shot. I hoped the hiker would be a part of the landscape, not the focal point. In fact, the hiker may blend too well into the dark wall, but I thought the back/sidelit figure added to this shot rather than detracted. It was an epic journey for me, I'm sure for most who enter the Narrows. Naturally, I also took an image with just the natural walls- posting shortly in ESS gallery.

The side lighting on the hiker helps a lot in preventing him from blending into the landscape. Great sense of scale conveyed especially since I've never been there.

Excellent fence of scale Harry. The side lighting works well here as does the lighter background. Only suggestion is too lighten the shadows a tad on the right canyon wall. Just my personal preference but a grand image none the less.
