Another from the Christmas cactus attempt. I took this against the red container it came in then rotated it 180.
D80, 70-300, ISO 100, F20 @ 10 sec.

I like the comp. and the color. The whites are a little blown out. With the whites the center of attention it is a bit distracting to me. The image is nicely seen and photographed.

Nice comp and bg but I agree that the whites are over exposed here. Even so, it's an eye catching image. Hope you get do more of this subject. It's an interesting looking thing.

Bob, I like the orientation of the flower and the bg. A couple observations: there seems to be a dust spot on the lower right petal and there is a weird halo under the lower petals. This is a great subject and I look forward to more!

What I like the best about this image Bob, is the gradient of red/burgundy coloring. You may have some sensor dust on one of the petals. And it may just be a small imperfection.

I like the in your face color of this Christmas cactus, Bob. My only suggestion would be to capture a bit more detail in the blown out whites.

Very nice flower & love the glow to it but as everyone has already mentioned the center is really blown out
1 more thing u can try is maybe u can have 2 exposures & then blend them manually or use lumnosity masks to get the best out of the exposure
