I am a new member @ NPN. I joined to improve my Landscape Photography skills. I have nothing new, so I decided to start with some old Photos which I photographed in the last two years.

Info:

I had to walk one hour in the middle of darkness over the mountain to reach this place (before the dawn).

it was scary experience but it is worth the trial.

I did not get the exact formation of the clouds as was forecasted but it was close enough.

3-stop Soft Grad ND + Polarizer.

a small water pond next to Bachalpsee - Switzerland

This is the only photo which I planned. All others photos were just in my way or I found accidentally.

Fall 2008.

Mohammad, welcome to NPN! This is a wonderful first image to post. The composition is very nicely done down to the smallest details. My suggestion to improve it even more would be to go back to the RAW file and use some fill light or curves adjustment to reduce the amount of black/dark in the shadows in the background a little. In fact, I personally prefer to use manual blending to control exposures like this and not grads, as the grads darken things I don't want them too sometimes. You have to do more work in PS that way though. In any case, I really like this. I think it could look a little more natural with less blacks, especially above the reflection, but overall very nice. Look forward to seeing more of your work!

Many thanks Marc and happy to see your name under my photo. I really appreciate your feedback.

Actually, I have never tried exposure blending in my landscape photography. I guess I should consider this next time. May be I will try both techniques and compare to see the +/- of each.

Welcome, Mohammad! This is a wonderful first post! I like the detail in the fg grasses and I would agree that this image was worth the trial of getting out there. Well done!

Welcome Mohammed, Nice to see you here too.:toast:

I really have nothing to add after Marc but I would you to try adding Skylight filter in Photoshop. I'm using Color Efex Pro™ 3.0 to add it. it gives very nice warmth to the picture.

Lots of potential here. Good comp and I'll bet all the light you need is in the RAW file. It takes some work to pull this out, but this image would seem to be worth it.
