Always told me to beware of the wasps nests, but I like their industriousness. This species called Polistes Exclamans was taken in south Texas last summer.

Very nice shot. Great light and DOF. The motion of the upper wasp is a nice bonus. The nest shows a lot of detail and texture.

Very nice photo. I really like the motion of the wings, seperates this image from more static ones of wasps. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting light and I like the wasp up top with its wing blur action Monica.
I was asleep here, have a good number of wasp and spider nesting shots..
Should've posted one :frown:

Please tell me you were using a l-o-n-g lens! Fabulous photo, Monica, with a lot of interest, indeed. Many congrats for the Pick!

(My father was once attacked by a nest full of yellow jackets and almost died. Nothin' to fool around with…)

Catherine,
sorry for the late answer but because of time zone and work I only read your comment now.
I used a macro lens 100 f2,8 IS as these wasps were very active and didn't seem to notice me. Anyway it's better to pay attention. Thanks for your nice comment. :wavey:
