1/250
f/3.5
ISO 100
Focal length 16.8 mm
My backyard in Northeast Florida
Can't remember whether handheld or tripod
Normal PSE8 processing (can't remember details), replace pond water and debris with black background, extend canvas to form frame

Floating leaf without water? That's my main question. I loved this leaf when I saw it floating, and I had to have the image, but then I didn't know what to do with it because of the unappealing appearance of the pond water and the miscellaneous algae, etc., around it. Then in doing the frosted leaves I realized I could do the same thing with this one. But that leaves a floating leaf without water, so I would love feedback on whether that works at all, and on anything else. Thank you very much!

Thank you, Charlie. :) Yes, I did know about the bugs (after the fact, of course) and forgot to mention them.

This is very cool, to the point that I don't really care what you did . . . it works. It could be killer in B&W too. Nice work!

Beautiful image Barbara. Not having seen the water in the unprocessed image, it's hard for me to know what alternatives you had in your processing but it's hard to imagine a more elegant solution than this. The black bg doesn't bother me at all of course. (smile). Gorgeous play of light in this, interesting shape, strong iines, fine textures, appealing color palette. Only thing I might do is lighten the stem a little more.

Barbara, in your leaves collection this is my favorite. I love the harmony of the colors in this almost monocromatic image. A perfect model. Beautiful.
Cheers.
