The last after the last rose

Our last after the last rose. A couple of weeks ago I posted a yellow rose with the title 'The last rose'. A few days after bloomed this small white rose and now I have to correct myself, fairly.

In our garden, after sunset.

D700, Nikkon 200mm. macro - f16 and ISO 400

Always glad for your comments and advices.

Gigi, well when you told us on the last one that it was last when I saw this thumbnail I thought it was grasses poking out of freshly fallen snow....Well what a suprise this one is!!
Fantastic detail on the stamens and georgeous flowing curves of the white petals. REALLY well done. :toast:

So beautiful! From the thumb, I thought this was a bush in snow. The soft lines with the perfect focus in the center is awesome. The off-center comp makes this a superb image. Two thumbs up from me! :toast:

I too thought this was a bush in the snow, Gigi. I love this; very delicate looking. Great job on the whites BTW. :toast:

Gigi:
This is such a beautiful image that I could look at it for a long time and still not get tired of it. The fluffy clouds around the center are just so cool. I curious how you managed to keep the center tack sharp and yet keep everything else soft at the periphery.

Answer for Gary's question. It was 20' after sunset, cool color of the light, a thin mist. In fact, the photo is borned a bit soft and cool. I only made it more visible, for our eyes, creating a contrast with a very sharp point of reference.
The steps: on the central point, a local (level masking) sharpening, saturation and warming of the colors; on the petals, a local bit of more softness through a denoising software (Noisware).
Thanks for the interest and the comments.

Nice detail, comp, color, and focus selection. This could be a French dessert pastry! Very cool!

This is one of the loveliest flora images I have seen in a while, Gigi. The centre floats in a cloud of petals, the delicate bluish tones setting it off to perfection. Just inspirational !!

Stunning. The chilling blue tones add some melancholy, which is definitely not a bad thing, but an unusual feeling to experience when viewing a rose. It's a pleasant surprise.
