Arid southern Africa is a very dusty place; more especially in the dry winter season. This dust ,however, was created by the first few (speeding) vehicles that passed on the dusty track (on the right outside the frame) in the early morning. Normally I hate this kind of dust creation, but this morning we welcomed it as a unique opportunity with the rising sun behind it emphasizing the layers in the landscape. Although I would have preferred a herd of giraffe as opposed to a lone springbok, but you can't always have it all.
I am reluctant to include my techs,...

Obviously a needlessly high SS, which I should have traded for more a smaller aperture... I guess I was not yet fully awake.

This is a beautiful monochrome. I love the layers of dust and light and the hint of the springbok. Well done!

The gorgeous light looks so good on this one, Vincent. As already mentioned, the layered BG makes the image for me too.
Andy...
Very interesting image the colour banding is quite strange and very unusual. I knew speeding in Etosha must have had a use, I agree that a Giraffe could have been much better but there is always the next time
