Verreaux's sifaka

One of two portraits of this species that I am posting, the other is in the Fauna gallery if you want to compare. Personally, I am pleased with them both. They were taken within an hour of each other at Berenty in southern Madagascar. The animals here are wild, but habituated with a capital H.

Thanks for looking.

Just delightful!
Great pose, great detail in the fur, wonderful bright eyes, and good comp!
There are 4 small red flecks that might be removed - 2 on the face, and 2 on the chest - perhaps from a bit of over-saturation of the reds?

Thanks for the comments Danny and Sandy. Sandy, I did think about removing those red flecks, which are leftovers from the flowers the animal had been eating for breakfast. In the end I decided they were part of the picture. Thanks for the comment though.

I would not want to have to choose between the 2 photos. They are equal IMHO. Thanks for sharing your shots of these unique animals.

I think I know this guy! ;^)

Wonderful portrait David, habituated as they may be, not easy to get them out in the open with a good amount of distance behind them to blur the background as you've managed here. Very nicely done :^)
