Mini Mushroom
by Timothy F. Hale
I spent the afternoon studying the forest floor in a section of virgin, old growth forest in the Mt Baker-Snoqualmie NF. I came across this "mini landscape" and attempted to due it justice with my camera. The mushroom stood 3/4" tall and was nestled in a healthy stand of green life on the top of a downed, centuries old, hemlock that would have measured, at least, 8 ft in diameter. I hope that you like it.
