Classic Zion

Hopeful a new view of the Watchman in Zion. I haven't seen this perspective with the Virgin River, I'd be interested if any of you have. This image was taken just after sunset, during that short window when the lighting was very even, but the peaks were still glowing. ISO 800 and f13 to limit most leaf movement in the far trees. I bumped up the saturation a hair, as the feedback I've gotton on previous posts suggested it might be needed. If too much, I'd like to know.

5D MarkII
17-40L
No filtration, single exposure.

Saturation looks great to me, Harry. And I agree it does have a classic look to it. To be completely honest, after your last posting this may seem a little "too classic" in the sense that it doesn't stop me in my tracks like your previous post did. It should work well as a stock image.

Thanks Guy - Definately no new ground broken here. My first time in Zion, so I wanted to get a shot of the recognizeable spots as well as the more unique. I find that people like purchasing the classic even more so - even if it's been done before. My goal was to try to get a unique shot of the often shot Watchman.

I know this spot Harry and you captured it well. I might crop a smidge of sky. I like the shutter speed you used on the water.

Pretty much any view of the Watchman is 'classic', i would think...
Anyhow, looks good to me, Harry. The motion blur up front is a tad distracting, but you got good light and exposure here.

Well composed. Excellent balance between the sunlit peaks and the shadowed foreground. Hard to do with one exposure and no filter. Doesn't look oversaturated to me.

Wonderful image Harry. I really love the processing and the light is very nice too. One small suggestion: the shadows look a smidge blue on my monitor, I'd consider warming them up a bit. Great work and processing.

Nice image Harry. The light on the peaks is nice and warm, and the water motion is just as I like it. Classic or not, I like this a lot.

Nice, well done - l think it is fine example of Zion . May be cleaning up low right corner with brighter bark will improve.
