Fabric Art in the Garden
by Barbara Sammons
One of my favorite places to photograph is the North Carolina Arboretum. This garden, the Quilt Garden" is planted using a specific quilt pattern during most of the year, but during the winter, fabric art has taken over. This fabric sculpture is an interpretation of the design "Circle within Circle" and was designed and installed by Jason Brown and Elizabeth Scofield of Knoxville, TN.
We received a couple of inches of snow earlier this week, and this is what was left today (12/16). I love the bright colors against the white snow and just thought this was a cheery image. Camera is a Nikon D70, handheld, no special lens. Nothing special except gloves and a scarf for me.
Comments and critiques are always appreciated. Stay warm out there and happy holidays.
