Black-fronted Dotterel photographed at Bowra, south-western Queensland a few months ago.

Canon 7D, EF500 f/4 + 1.4tc, angle finder c, tripod set low, kwik-camo, ISO 200, f/8, 1/640, ec -1/3, cropped for composition and correct tilt: 68% of original size.

Interesting setting and nice low angle Simon. The reds of the eye ring and bill are real attention getters. Perhaps the OOF foreground greenery isn't ideal but it doesn't bother me a lot either. A beautiful bird.

Very nice shot Simon. Love the colors here and all the patterns on this cool species. OOF vege not really a factor for me as the birds colors draw me straight to the bird.

Lovely pose and light Simon, great low angle and head turn too. OOF greenery doesn't affect my enjoyment of this image.
