Juniper Titmouse

Not a lot of bird around lately, but I found this titmouse on a natural perch in the yard a few days ago. I had to do a second round of sharpening on the face as it was not quite as sharp as the rest.

Comments and critiques are appreciated. Please view larger version if possible.

Brian, I enjoy the curving perch and you got a great head turn for this perspective. This is a species I've had very little luck with but I'll keep trying.

Looks good to me Brian. Love the comp and the bird certainly does pop on that darker BG. Sharpness looks fine.

Well done Brian. Terrific sharpness and detail, and the pose is first-rate. :toast:

Looks like tricky lighting but you have done a fine job on the titmouse and the background. Have never seen this species, plain but the crest is cool.

Nice job on this difficult exposure, sharp details at the head where it counts.
I especially like the curved branch here :toast:
Well done & Merry Christmas!

Brian,

My only shots of this species are blurry or the birds are just tiny in the frame so I'd be very happy to have this fime image in my files. Love the pose, the light and the curious look you appear to be getting.

It's a new species for me, Brian. It looks pretty energetic: sort of a ready-to-go pose. Sharpness looks fine. So, I think the extra attention you paid to the face worked well. Nice catchlight and unobstructed view of the bird too. Fine job. :toast:
