A capture of a Brown Pelican taking off at Bolsa Chica. I like the lighting and the pose of the Pelican showing the previous splash he made. I find these guys very entertaining.

Comments appreciated.

Good action on this one Harry, I like the look of the larger version.

Good take off shot Harry, I like the timing and the techs look fine. A lower angle might have been even more engaging but that may not have been possible.

1/4000 certainly froze the action Harry. I particularly like the position of the right wing over the head.

I agree, they are entertianing birds. Lots of available texture in them too. The pose you captured is appealing, and love the splash.

Harry,

I think pelicans can be very entertaining too. Love the blue of the water and the splashes behind the bird, I especially like how the wings are curled forward and lead my eyes right to the pelican's head, beautiful light, action & details.

You've been practicing and it shows :-)

Interesting and reach of opportunity is shooting a pelican. In this shot i like the motion impression and the splashes. details are also fine. I it was mine i'd try to open a bit the shadows. it also seems a little bit dark to me. only opinions.

cheers, Luca
