Nanven Beach

Over the headland from the location of my last two uploads, lies a fascinating beach composed of wave-cut platforms and wave-smoothed ovoid rocks. How could I resist?

I just love how well the subtle colour-palette of Portra brings out the delicate colours of the rock. I did shoot some Velvia too but I'm starting to like Portra more and more.... I'm even starting to wonder why I've been ignoring it all this time.

I love the smooth curves and delicate tones here, Julian. A wonderful intimate abstract.

There's nothing like negative film for capturing subtle tones in a high dynamic range scene such as this. I like the detail and the curves here, Julian. Nice work with lens tilt to capture the fine detail in the foreground rock.

Nice work!

The soft tones work really well with the dark rocks up top. I like the pockets of sand too.
Nicely seen

Julian,

Great study in form and shape. I also like the subtle hues of color as well. Honestly though, I'm really intrigued by the smooth, rounded rocks up top. Did you get a chance to move in and work those? Looks like a great place to explore.
