This fall picture was made in the Porcupine Mountains in Upper MI. This is the Carp River as it heads out of Lake of the Clouds and travels towards Lake Superior.

Hey Nick,

I know this spot and its a great view. I still haven't even processed mine from here :frown:
Great colors and is this looking back southwest? Nice comp
Curious if you needed f20 here as I think the 24s' sweet spot might be more beneficial from what I hear (don't own one).

Thanks for sharing

Hi Anthony, Yes, this is looking back to the southwest. I'm pretty sure I didn't need f/20 and not really sure why I used it. Thanks for the comment, and I look forward to seeing some of your images from here. Thanks, Nick

Those beautiful colors are lit up nicely and the diagonal line makes for a fine comp.
Nice one, Nick.

Beautifully done. Just the right amount of saturation too. I wouldn't change a thing!

The rich colors here are very pleasing to the eye. The diagonal, snaking river makes the shot even more dynamic. Nice work!

Great color Nick and a beautiful image. Would like to see a bigger version. Maybe I'll run into you and Sheri for the 3rd year in a row up there.

A classic scene. I remember images of this place from Danny Burk a couple of years ago. Very beautiful.

Thanks for your nice comments on this so far. It was really nice being here with the fall color at peak.
Guy, I know Danny Burk went here several times. The MWNP always took a fall trip to the UP and I know Danny was part of that. I was usually up there too, but never ran in to him. Danny had some beautiful images from this area. Nick

Excellent work Nick. Definitely one of your better shots. The colors are phenominal. For my tastes, I wouldn't mind seeing the shadows warmed up a bit and a little vignetting at the corners. However, this is awesome as is! :toast:

Nick,

Gotta love the aerial viewpoint and the stream meandering through the comp. Great color and lighting. Seems like it's lost a bit of detail coming to the web, but we've come to expect that haven't we. Excellent autumn scene.

Lovely! Nice blue-leading line separating the shot diagonally. Great light and color...I can almost hear you hold your breath before releasing the shutter. :toast:
