Great action! The detail of the spray and claws is icing on the cake. How about a touch more space, top and bottom?

An action packed image !!! Great eye contact, surf and the paw.
As suggested, it would benefit from more space on the top n bottom.

Hi Jess,

Pretty hard to nit pick this great action shot - well done! Personally I like tight crops with images like this so for my taste the crop is pretty much perfect.

While this strong image DOES speak for itself, personally I'd like to know a little more about the image capture (both technical information as well as just what was going on here with the bear and how you managed to be in the perfect spot to capture this) and I suspect others would too. But (obviously) what you choose to share about the image is totally up to your discretion - thanks VERY MUCH for sharing the image itself!

Thanks everyone. Brad you are correct. I guess I am just too busy with too many images to edit from the past couple of years. I should have done more but I just thought I would do a quick post. It was shot with the 1d 4 100-400 lens and the bear has his eyes on a spawning salmon during one of my Alaska Brown Bear workshops.
