Same bird as my last eagle post just a few clicks before. I like the turn the bird is making and the slightly open beak showing effort. A happy holidays to everybody. It was a pleasure viewing all you wonderful images over the last year. Some really outstanding stuff. Please view larger version for max details.

You've got this eagle's habits down. Great wing position and I love where the bird is is placed in the frame. What a shot! :toast:

Great banking pose. I would try to bring out more detail in the blacks.

Pose makes the shot for me...just outstanding, and a little different than what you normally see. Detail in the blacks looks good on my monitor. :toast:

Alan, thanks for the comment. Bringing out more detail in the dark browns would mean raising the shadows and that would not look natural under the wings and such, so I believe I will leave the processing as is.

That dynamic flight posture is incredible Ron - especially impressive in such a large bird. Wonderful sharpness in all dimensions and perfect light on the side of the face. For me this is one of your better flight shots and that's saying a lot. Excellent!

Ron,

Great flight pose, it captures the powerful essence of this species. I especially like the position of the head. The exposure of the whites looks very good and the browns also look good too, I can see plenty of details in the shadowed portions in the larger image. Very well done.

Ron,
Very very nice per usual  Love the head angle in relationship to the tail it works
visually so well. He looks pretty intent on what he about to do. So look out below. :frown:
Have a wonderful Christmas!!!!

That's a great capture, the position of the bird is so dynamic and his look so focussed. It would be hard to fault this one in any way.

I like your framing, excellent details. Also like the lights direction, looks like the eagle is turning into the sunlight..
Ditto, it's been a pleasure to view your shots this past year.
Happy New Year Ron :toast:
