Autumn on Merced is a magical place. You can spend a life time on the river and always come away with something special. This is an area were my good friend Lon O. and I found all kinds of compositions. Thanks for all your comments on my last photo.
C&C always welcome.

The depth you've achieved with this composition is awesome. The grasses in the foreground really pull this together. :toast:

Kyle,

Very nice. The image has great depth. I only concern are the tilted trees in the background. Using the TS-E lens couldn't you have prevented that?

I really like the comp here and the exquisite detail. Perfect scene for the TS lens. Nice light all around.

I feel as if I am at the river's edge and I can hear the sound of the river rushing by. There does seem to be quite a bit of lens distortion towards the right edge of the frame as some of the trees are leaning severely to the right. Still a great shot, though.

This is very nice Kyle. The light is excellent, and it has great clarity. I do wish it had a bit more room at the top, but that's minor.

Kyle,

This is wonderful! I love the depth here created with the grasses up front and the near/far comp. Everything just fits together perfectly.

My only regret is that I didn't set up for this scene! Especially after showing it to you! JK. Great color, sat etc. I'll have to remember this for next time.

The only suggestion I have has been mentioned and we talked about it - and that is the distortion of the trees. Fairly easily adjust in PS, although you'll lose some on the right edge. I'm also not sure how much of the leaning trees is because of the wide angle lens distortion, or how much is because the film plane (sorry, sensor plane) is probably not parallel to the trees. Probably a combo of both.

Certainly a beautiful scene along the Merced. It was a great trip. Friends, photos, Yosemite.... who could ask for anything more?
