This was taken about 20 minutes after A River of Red.

Not quite as sharp as a River of Red but I liked the Vs of flying geese and the sense of depth in the composition.

D700
F/4 500mm
F/8
1/500s
ISO 800
-.67 EV
Tripod
Matrix metering

Carol,

Looking at this I can almost hear the noise of these birds flying by. I also like the feeling of depth and the V formations. I might consider toning down the brightest sections of the sky but that might just be a problem with my eyes, I'd like to know what others think on that.

I like the distant mountains and that we can easily make out the shapes of the geese flying in front of them and I also like the trees on the right hand side.

Carol,
I really like this flock of geese captured in such a wonderful sky while it's flying toward the mountains. On my monitor the brighter sections don't bother me but maybe a bit of darkening could make this image even more beautiful.

Very nice, I agree just a bit darker might improve the image. I also like that you can see the waterfowl in front of the mountains. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Carol: Another classic Bosque shot!! Good for you. Beautiful formations of geese and a great job keeping detail in the geese against the distant mountains. I agree with the others on toning down the sky.

Thank you all for your feedback. This version is a bit more dramatic and I used 2 control points on NIK Viveza 2 to make some modifications.

Thanks again.

I agree with John, Carol: the repost nails it. A classic Bosque shot. Excellent layering, that helps describe the size of the place and the scope of the movement.

Hi Carol,
This is my favorite image of yours that you have posted from our Bosque workshop. The geese against that beautiful sky and against the mountain along with that tree to anchor the image make this super. Nice work and have a Merry Christmas! :toast:

Both images are beautiful, Carol. However, the repost is really excellent. I don't see a sharpness problem. The number of birds and how the lines of birds extend even to the horizon are quite stunning. Merry Christmas!!
