Mountain Hare
by Ron McCombe
The mountain hare was digging around in the snow looking for food and seemed quite oblivious to me as it went about its business. I managed to get quite close before having retreating because of the insane cold. There was a wind blowing and with the windchill it was in the region of -10°c.

Boy...this image really says "cold"!! I really like the lighting here - and you did a great job on the exposure (and/or post-processing) - very nice balance on the shaded and sunlit portions of the image. I'm a bit ambivalent on the positioning of the subject in the frame - seems a little too centred (vertically) for me...but not sure what to suggest to strengthen the image - perhaps cropping a thin strip off the bottom of the frame and effectively lowering the subject within the frame? Just a thought...
Cheers...thanks for sharing this...
