To my mind's eye, these Cholla cactus are actually rootless prickly people chasing each other around the desert when we avert our eyes.
So, my question to you is
What do you see?
This was taken in northern Arizona off route 40 a few weeks ago.
After attempting to handhold a 500mm lens, hand-holding the 70-200 lens was a piece of cake.
f/5.6
ISO 200
matrix mode
190 mm
No special processing. Cropped a small amount for composition. Debated doing something about the shadow on the left and finally decided that prickly people will have shadows as they run around the desert LOL

6 commentsNice light and perfect DOF choice.
They don't remind me of anything concrete but they do seem to have a slightly sinister feel to them.
Strong comp and the subject isolation is very good - also the textures and light. Interesting image, as usual.
