River Ice 2

I spent about an hour an a half not far from home at a park on the Yellowstone River shooting patterns in the ice, bonding with my macro lens   The substrate below is the water flowing over river rock.

Canon 5DII. Sigma 150/2.8. ISO 100. f/16. 1/20 s. C&C appreciated.

Doug,
during winter the ice offers a good way to use our macro lenses. I like this image, everyone can give his own interpretation. It seems to me a prehistoric animal of the deep.
Very nice.

Very nice shot, Doug. I'm surprised it doesn't have more comments. I like the composition and the subject matter . . . my only thought is to bring down the white balance to give it more of a cool tone. That's just offered as an idea to experiment with if you're so inclined, not really a critique.

Beautiful formations and the softish lighting is a nice touch.

Hey Doug, it's fun finding patterns in ice, mother nature creates the best art, nice find here.
