Blue Snail
by Lorna Taylor
This is my first post with Nature Photographers and I have to say I am feeling a little over my head about it.
This is a little guy I found on an evening walk home from the beach after the sun had set.
I used an extension tube ,a 300mm lens with polarizer and tripod for this image.

7 commentsI like the mystery of this shot, not knowing the source of light or time of day. This feels like a moonlight capture. The glowing color of the snail really stands out well from the background and makes this an eye grabber. I think you have it well placed in the frame and the lines of the plant add to the composition. I especially like that it creates an overall triangular shape with the snail on the diagonal. To my eye, a small nit is that some of the leaves overlap the snail, right near the brightest, eye anchoring spot. Thanks for sharing this one and please do not be inhibited about taking a few moments to react to some of the postings of others.
