hi everyone and Happy New Year.
I haven't participated here the last half year as much as I would like to........so I this is my first post since last summer.
but every now and then I just dropped by and I was fascinated by all those great images posted here in NPN.
I would like to participate and post more picture in the future.
So this is my first one.......Last october I went to the Matterhorn area to take some fall color shots. I was really lucky weatherwise.....the next day it began to snow......guess Andreas Resch was up there a couple of days after me.....

Techs: Nikon D700,f16, 1/8 sec, iso 200
Thanks for any comments and thoughts.

Happy New Year Bill! Beautiful autumn color and light. I really like the comp.as well. Only suggestion I have is to darken the mountain slightly so it is a little more prominent. Either way it is a glorious image.

Very good detail, very nice composition. I really like the scene, rather calm and relaxing. Do agree about slightly darkening the mountain. Thanks for sharing.

Happy New Year to you. Your comp is outstanding. All of the lines move toward the peak making it the primary subject. Beautiful color as well. A superb landscape shot! :toast:

I'm not so sure about darkening the mountain, if anything its the sky that looks a little washed out to me. Did you use a polarizing filter for this?

Beautiful shot Bill - love the trees in the larger version. You have a grear sky there too with the clouds. I might boost contrast in the sky a bit to help delineate the Matterhorn a little more.

Outstanding work, Bill! Beautiful scene... awesome colors and killer reflection! I do echo the comments about darkening the mountain a tad bit, but I think it's a wonderful composition. Happy New Year!! :toast:

I wish we had clouds like that when we were up there. It might be possible that we had though, because me and Andreas caught the changing of the weather too. I gotta stop sleeping during the day. Other than darkening the sky and the peak a bit, this is an amazing shot, Bill! :toast:

A superb picture with gorgeous autumn colors. The sense of perspective and the 3D appearance in the large image is astonishing. Splendid!

Really nice! You got great cloud reflections, and a quiet lake and some really nice color on the trees. I like the comp, too, it leads you towards the mountain. I see what people are saying about making the mountain show up more, and if you could do it, that would be good, but this is really pretty just like this.

Super solid shot of that Icon! Love the warm colors of the larches. The sky and the reflection frame the Matterhorn very effectively.

A beautiful shot, Bill. I love it's bright and cheerful mood. The fall colors are just stunning against the blue of the sky. This contrast could be stronger in the sky, as it looks a little washed out and pale. As mentioned, darkening the sky would help here, but it's just personal taste. I quite like that you've left the image light and airy. Great shot!
