Hawian Rainbow

This was shot on the Napali Cost on the Island of Kauai in Hawaii. It was shot several years ago in the ancient days of film. The scan did not turn out to bad. I don't have any tech data on this image. Thanks for looking and for your comments.

Nice capture Richard. I might have tried to lighten the right side a little. A bit picky but I thought I would suggest it. IMO a perfect comp.

Richard,

That is a powerful image. I love the mountains and water in the BG.

Nice! Great rugged landscape and a perfect rainbow. I like the tree in the blhc--not so sure about the one up top though. :wavey:

Very nice!

About the dark area on the right side .... A number of images in this Weekly Challenge (including my collage, just posted) show "Alexander's dark band" above the primary rainbow. Alexander of Aphrodisias (in modern day Turkey) first described it about 200 AD. See Wikipedia and other sources for explanations of this interesting phenomenon.

A superb close up of a killer rainbow, Richard. I like the composition with the rainbow dissecting the scene on a diagonal. It really emphasizes the inside vs outside brightness phenomena.
