A Blue Tit in the rain taken from a nice warm, dry hide out in my yard.

These poor birds have a lot to put up with and this one looks like he's fed up with the British weather.

Sony A350
Sigma 50-500
1/125th
f7.1
ISO 400
A bit of digital zoom for impact

Cool looking pose. Yep, he does look grumpy!! A little soft on the head. The sharpest focus appears to be on the breast.

I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley.....if he was a little bigger.... I like how the black markings form a "Y" on his face, Geoffrey. It sure focuses our attention. You might try a little more sharpening on the top of the head. Startling shot. :toast:

Geoffrey, I'm not a fan of head-on shots, but this sure is an exception. The raindrops on the bird's head are a real plus.

Nice BG separation.

Thank you for including a larger image.

The conmp on this is great and gave me a l;augh this morning! I do think another round of sharpening would be good. Not sure if you missed to focus point or if it is from motion blur. My guess would be motion blur with the 1/125 ss....also because the branch looks sharp throughout and the head and legs are a bit blurry.

That is great. I love the expression, the drops on the head and the wet bark on the branch
