Spotted these remains of a hurricane ravaged tree on the beach and couldn't resist shooting it. It seemed to have so much character and personality. Shot on Pensacola Beach, FL.

Please view LARGER version for much better detail.

I love the intricate patterns and curves, Bill, but more than anything I enjoy the wonderful palette of soft pastels setting off the warmly-lit tree. Beautiful study and excellent use of light.

I just simply don't know how you do this, Bill. The light is so perfect in my mind that every nuance in the scene comes shining through. Excellent.

Wonderful composition, and the details are amazing.
The Nikon D2 series has such wonderful colors, and you've showcased that here.

Beautiful light Bill, with your signature style on it. At first the blowing grasses were a little annoying but now I like them there, it's all part of the story isn't it. Just gorgeous .Cheers

A wonderful subject here, Bill. Filling the frame with the main subject was an excellent choice on the overall composition too. The larger version supplies plenty of closeup detail as well. Very nice indeed.

Beautiful subject, Bill! Would be a shame to crop any of it--but IMHO, the blurry grass has got to go...

This is also a shot that really needs to be viewed large. All the color and contrast nuances along with the crisp details are very nice. reminds me of an "Overacker" approach, with your signature presentation all over it!

Bill,

Even in death there is the appearance of life, some how with it's world turned upside down and inside out the tree retains it's charm and vitality. Snags, stumps, fallen logs or driftwood they retain a unique character and this is captured supremely well l in this image. For my own personal taste and just to make the tree stand out more from it's bright backgroud, Id selectively tone down the highlight ever so slightly. Especially if I was going to convert this to a BW image. However it is outstanding the way it is.
