Buzzard at dawn

Spending so much time in the hide lately. My goal was to photograph bittern but it didn't work out for several reasons. So I've set my mind on backlit buzzards.

iso 200 1/2000 sec. f/4 full frame at 200mm

I love this one Edwin. The lighting is beautiful and there is just enough detail in the shaded areas to fill out what my eye is already imagining. The complimentary colours of the background really enhance the overall effect and the pose on the bird is so typically Buzzard that recognition is instantaneous.

Holy cow, this is gorgeous. We can make out just the right amount of details on the bird's back, IMHO - just enough light to highlight some feathers and the tip of the tail. Monochromatic perfection; very artfully done.

This is so good Edwin. Everything about is just brilliant. I don't want to take anything away from it at all but I have to admit that every time I look at it (and I have been back several times) I just wish I could see even the faintest glimmer of an eye. It really is so good though that I feel guilty even writing that, but it's too late now.

Hi Edwin, Simply gorgeous. I'm not going to mention the fact that after 40 hours I have only a couple of images of my buzzard in terrible light  Is this one of the buzzards that let you take images from your car, do they take requests? If so can you ask one to pop over to Carlton on Trent for a day? I'll pay!!! Think I'm getting cabin fever  Really love it Edwin, hopefully I may be able to show you mine ......soon. :toast: :toast:

Hi Scott. I will ask the buzzard to fly over for just one day, ok? I don't shoot from my car very often. I rather sit in a uncomfortable hide for many hours. Don't know why, but I think it's the fact of being alone at my own site rather then parking my car amongst many others waiting for my turn to take some pictures. Your time will come I'm sure.
