Live on the edge. My name is Tom Kualii and I have been covering the recent phase of the Kilauea East Rift Zone Eruption since It started back in 2008. From Halemaumau to Pu'u O'o through Royal Gardens subdivision down to the Kalapana Coastline, Bruce Omori and myself have been documenting Madame Pele's sacred fields of Lava. We are recently doing Big Island, Hawaii photography tours and you can find information on our website, extremeexposure.com or contact me on facebook. Aloha. TK

Now that is cool! I don't think I've ever seen a more dramatic shot of a photographer in the field. And whatever you're using the umbrella for, I don't think it's covered by the warranty.

Living on the edge indeed Tom, the silhouetted photographer adds so much to this.

Sorry forgot to credit Bruce Omori for this image. The photographer is actually myself on the edge.

How many melted pairs of shoes and boots do you have for souvenirs of this project, Tom? Amazing photo of yourself out there amid such dramatic and powerful and dangerous forces. Congrats to you both for the fine work you are doing to capture both artful and documentary images of an awesome episode of Earth's creation.

Geez, that's much too dangerous. Great shot, but not worth the possible consequences. Please be careful!

That is crazy. Hopefully the close priximity was a result of a telephoto lens compressing the scene and not from standing right on the edge.

Looks like risky business Tom! Nice to meet you. Hope you and your cameras have asbestos over coats!
