The Still of Morning

I have really not shot much in the past few months, getting caught up in a relationship. Well I forgot how much I love it. I went out to the Everglades and just enjoyed so much the quiet foggy morning. It was 61 degrees and a lone mosquito was the only minor annoyance. It was so still you could here the moisture dripping from the pines.

This is nothing out of the way, actually this lake is nestled in the campground, but the mood was hard to pass up. This is about 4 shots merged, at 360 dpi it was 40". Thinking of getting a canvas done of it around 72" wide.

Here's a link to the larger, I put up the wrong pano on here. 1000px

Very lovely, Paul. The color cast is providing a nice mood and the feeling of stillness that you mention really comes through. I am enjoying this a lot.

BTW, the larger version seems to be an entirely different photograph.

A lovely image, Paul. I'm not a fan of blue color cast, but it really works well here. This reminds me of years ago, canoeing on the Apalachicola river on a foggy morning in the Fall. You could hear every sound from the shores so distinctly. Precious memories!

This is fantastic Paul. I love the way the stands of trees contrast against the foggy blue atmosphere.

Lovely, with a great sense of quiet and mystery. Considering the 36 inches of snow we have on the ground at my house, I'm ready to go there NOW!

Sweet!! This would have been perfect for the 'Blues' theme idea that im thinking of using for my next set of weekly themes---oh well, youll just have to go get another blue shot, thats all. Since Fla is the only state currently w/o snow on the ground, youre just gonna have to make a little trip while all the glorious white stuff is still around

Phenomenal, Paul. The fog and the blue set such an incredible mood that just stops the viewer in their tracks and becomes captivated; at least for me anyway. A stunning image. I can only imagine what a 72inch print will look like.... a real jaw dropper I'm sure.

And I like the 'island' that's bookended by the land masses.
Almost wish the 'island' was dead center for symmetry's sake. Nevertheless, quite a compelling image.

Beautiful and peaceful composition Paul, good to have you back. I wouldn't have minded a little more space at the top and bottom.

Thanks everyone,

Aaron, I can't blame her, she never did anything to take away from photography. Its just how I operate I guess.

Floris, I have another pano I could make with shots at 40mm so more room top and bottom, just preferred it tighter.

gorgeous, Paul. You've gone for vertical symmetry, so in this case, the lack of horizontal symmetry throws the image off a bit IMO, and I agree would like just a little looser crop on the top and bottom.

Paul this is beautiful and well done. The mood the blues create is tremendous. I could see cropping a little off the right to center the island or dodging the reflection of the pine in the llc, it seems a little heavy for the scene(that's just me though). An awesome photo that begs to be printed large. Cheers

I love the mood in this Paul, but for my tastes it seems a little too blue. I love the calmness of the reflection, but the drone of that damn mosquito's driving me crazy!
