Realizing A Dream!

I have favorite individual trees in Yosemite valley. This is my favorite stand of trees. I have stood in front of this scene every trip there since picking up my camera. For 4-5 years, I have dreamed of standing before these trees as snow was coming down. That dream was realized a couple of weekends ago. This is 5 vertical images stitched. The file size without any interpolation is 18x36 cropped. I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for your thoughts. Thanks so much for the responses on the misty oaks, I appreciate it!

D200,
18-70mm,
1/15sec, F/11,
Thanks,
Chris

Beautiful, Chris! Love the drooping branches... and those leaves still hanging on. The large version brings the scene to life!

Excellent Chris! You really need to see the larger version for all the detail and subtle color. Beautiful work.

I always like the sweeping beauty that pano's capture. The detail of an 18 x 36 print would be fun to see. Esp enjoy the center arch and deeper view beyond.

What a beautiful stand of trees Chris. The pano works very well here and I love the natural contrast between the trees and the snowy white backdrop. Nice work here!

That looks like El Cap Meadow. I've stood in front of those trees many times too. You've brought them to us beautifully.

Very nice winter image, I can only imagine the wonderful amount of detail in this, which is lost in a web presentation. This is getting very nit-picky, but if it were mine I would probably rotate it CW just the tiniest bit, so that the strip of snow looks perfectly even.

So beautiful Chris! A lot of small things here that make work this so well. The opening in the center, the few leaves in the upper right, the fresh pristine conditions. Also the balance as such. Another elegant piece of work man! :toast:

Beautiful shot Chris - would love to see this printed really large. I really like the touch of red/brown (whatever) leaves in the URC. I would love to see some close-ups too.

Just gorgeous Chris! Kudos to you for continually capturing fresh images from ground that has been covered so many times.... Like you, this is one of my favorite stands of Black Oak as well.

I really like the depth created by that simple opening in the middle. and the very farthest tree in the back that also has a little opening.... way back there... looks like it's across the river too. Great depth to this just because of that.

The little hints of fall that still linger with the reddish-brown leaves still clinging really makes this color version wonderful. The large version is just outstanding.

I might shave off some of the bottom since there's a bit of detail-less snow. But that's being picky...

I'm quite jealous man!

Awesome shot Chris! The opening in the middle invites the viewer to explore the more distant stands of trees. The dusting of snow and on the oak definitely makes this one work.

I like the symmetry and the portal in the middle. Really nice light, and the pano is perfect for this scene.
