Semi Flora

I don't know exactly what this is - semi landscape or semi flora - this time I chose semi flora. I do love walking through the bottomlands and swamps of Florida, smelling the moist soil, feeling the earth tremble and quake when you walk, enjoying the jungle-like greenery. It's harder to shoot than you might imagine, and I frequently come back empty handed. Anyway, I liked this one enough to at least share it, even though it's not a real beauty.

LARGER version available.

D2X w/ 70-300 @ 80mm
1 sec @ f/11 - MLU & mc-30 remote release
100 ISO
Probably a polarizer
Tripod
Capture One 4, CS4, TK's Luminosity, Glow, and Sharpening actions

Thanks for looking and leaving any comments. :wavey:

Love it, and "It's harder to shoot than you might imagine" is so very, very true.

Bill: Well seen. Indeed these scenes seem to be some of the most challenging to compose but you've done great. Love the textures of and on the log especially. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

A fine composition to start with Bill but i suspect your post processing is what makes this image so appealing to me. Love the strong diagonal. Beautiful work.

Bill:
Love the moss on the richly textured dark brown log. Hard to fine order in seemly chaotic scene but you have done well here.
