A Happy New Years Day

On New Years Eve, I spread out a bunch of bird seed on our back hillside, so on New Years Day all the birds could have a feast.
Caught this one with his mouth full. Could this be a Dark-eyed Junco?? Probably should not show the bird seed in the photo, but I thought it worked in this one? As alwayss all C&C is really a apperciated.

Definitely a dark-eyed junco. Nice to have the food in the mouth. The bird seed makes a nice colorful background.

Indeed a Dark-eyed Junco, Ron. Very nice detail in the plumage and in this case the food works. :toast:

Ron,
I like the food in the beak and the colorful seeds all around.

I never include seed in my photos except maybe in the beak but this looks fine to me because the seed mixture is so colorful along with the few blades of grass and makes an interesting background. Oh, and the bird looks good too, nice and sharp and I like the head turn.

Hi Ron :wavey: You did a good job with the seed B.G. It works well with this hungry Junco :jump:
