Pine Creek Lake, Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, MT. This was ! of 2 of the best photographic conditions I've experienced in the backcountry. Taken July 2010.

Canon 5DII. 16-35/2.8. ISO 100. f/16. Simple 2-exposure blend.
See LARGER VERSION for best detail. Thanks!

Great shot Doug, the details in the large post are incredible. The FG has some nice shapes and helps lead the eye to the beautiful light on the peaks. The Beartooth Wilderness is one of my favorite spots in Montana, and after seeing your post I can't wait to go back now! :toast:

Wow, that water is so still that the range and its reflection look like a Rorschach test. Really love those gorgeous rocks that lead our eyes into all that beauty.

The light is awesome. The reflection of the mountain in the still water is just beautiful. i like how you used the foreground elements to lead me into this landscape. The larger version is great.
Excellent work

Loved those colours. Amazing still reflections puts this image on top. Liked the texture in FG rocks.
Only wish the grass in LLC was not present.

I'd say you had good conditions! But that only gets you part of the way there. Great composition and exposure. No nits. Well done.

Lovely image Doug, the light, colors and reflection are very nice. I find the little bush in the lower left to be a tad distracting, but not much you can do on that. Great capture.

A masterful composition and flawlessly 'developed'! The touch of residual sunrise (set) light in the clouds is beautiful.

An eye grabber for sure! Really like the textures and colors of the foreground rocks that lead into the image, the glow on the peak, and smoooth reflection. A blue rock on the scree slope below the peak jumps out at me though.

Clarity and crispness is superb. I like the way the FG rocks point toward the reflected peak. Your blend is perfect as is the processing. No ideas how to improve upon this one - maybe crop just a hair off the top to just above the central cloud uplift? It brings me there!

How did I miss commenting on this, Doug, it's only about the 4th time I've looked at it. You have really developed a style with these mountain scenes. They all have great light, color, and comp. This one has that plus a wonderful reflection and outstanding clarity. :toast:
