Yes, another buzzard. My last for now. Still processing about 450 buzzard images and it has been great fun so far. A few more ideas in my head so I think I will be doing these birds for a few weeks more. I will sleep when I'm old

iso 200 1/80 sec. f/4

Ed, this is superb. No idea how you manage to get so close and not get the bird spooked either, well done. The only thing I'd prefer to see, is a little greater DOF towards the front. With a D3/s, you have that choice. Personally, since having a full frame body (D700), I just don't bother with ISO200 anymore - to my eyes, there is no discernible difference between 200 and 400, and are way 'smoother' than the 800 with a D300.

Rgds,

Thanks guys,

Yes, it was taken from a hide. Well, a hole in the ground with branches to cover it. Not comfortable at all but it gives me that low POV.

I know what you mean Des but Í still like to use iso 200, old habit. So now and then I try iso 400 and I can't see much difference to be honest. It's a matter of time to gain enough trust in higher iso.

Very well caught Edwin. A lovely shot showing some behaviour which lifts it from a straight portrait. A beautiful complimentary background and well chosen perch.

Very impressive for 1/80th Edwin.

Good action very well caught given the lack of light.

Fabulous shot, and a just reward for the efforts you have put into this series. The bird screaming adds a great deal and I like the natural colours. The moss perch looks great, but it did have me wondering if you had imported it into the setting.

Like clone the bird into this setting? Wow, that hurts!!!!
After spending so many hours waiting for the birds to sit in the right position
Please have a look at the video http://vimeo.com/18975755

Edwin, Sorry If I didnt come across very clear with that comment.I meant had you physically taken the perch to the area, not infered any cloning, I hope from the tone of all my comments it is clear that I admire the work shown here and to be honest yours in particular. Think I had better get back to the simpler comments and maybe not give comment lunchtimes when I am very rushed.

Hi Roy,

I'm so glad I misunderstood. I was quite confused, because the video clearly shows I did not clone in the bird. Thanks so much for making it clear and no hard feelings. Sorry for my previous comment. Yes, I have imported the perch into this site. I thought this would make a great perch for buzzards. Buzzards will sit on every perch I place. Even within hours, they don't need to adapt like crows and raven.

Thanks Roy,

Edwin :wavey:
