This is my favorite of the series so far, Peter. I love the way the streak of warm yellow/red divides the image.

Very nice, Peter. I like the contrasts involved and the vegetation along the water/ice. The ice adds a lot to the image.

It's interesting how much more compelling the large version is. I loved the details in the trees, grasses and water.

I like this a lot Peter, the winter colours look great. Comp looks good and you've got some great details in there too.

I'm really loving the subtle color in the trees and water - it's a very calming and interesting color palette. Its the kind of shot where the more you look at it the more you like it. Great job.

I like the textures, the light, and the reflections in this one. Also, the warm cool contrast. Nice work.

Peter, This looks like it could be right here not far from my house. I love these kind of scenes and this one is done really nice. This has a very nice combination of light and wonderful textures. Some very nice reflections in this also. I really enjoy the large version!

Really love the mood, Peter. The diagonal layer of warm color is a marvelous contrast in the scene; it's an eye-catching composition. Plus the woodsy look and the icy water, it's just a great "portrait" of winter in the lowlands.

The layers of different colors and textures here is very effective. What a good eye to come up with this comp.

Yeah I like this one quite a bit! Could see a crop off the bottom as well, but love the reflections too. Nice colors in the grasses, and good density and depth up top too

Wasn't too impressed by the thumbnail, but I'm sure glad I decided to open it. The large version jumps off the screen. A beautiful image of "real" nature.

The view of larger photo is special. My highlight is the b/w water and ice. What a contrast to the burnt grasses and jumbled tree thicket. Excellent!

Very good Peter! Must be my favourites from your recent floodplains images. The balance in the composition works fine, the reflection and the ice is particularly appealing. From what I can discern, it looks like as if there is a bit of water on the ice. That creates quite some interesting effects. The color palette is also nice - what I have come to know from this place.

Peter,
What a lovely and quiet winter scene. Although I expect if one was standing there you could here the activity and sounds of birds or the little noises of some small creatures rustling around at the base of the cattails.... or a slight breeze whistling through the trees.
Excellent and sharp detail for the web.
