Tangled

One wild-looking dandelion from a park near my house. I really liked the way that the seeds were caught up amongst each other, giving this everyday subject a bit of personality (or so it seems to me). I used a black coat as the background and later used a few textures from Flypaper Textures to add an extra element to the scene. Basically, just one experiment after another led up to this final result. All comments and critiques are greatly appreciated!

Canon 5D Mark II, Tamron 90mm Macro for 10 seconds at f/32 (ISO 100).

I've never seen a Dandelion looking so good Phil, the textures add a lot to this.

Gary.

the textured background is a good match to the tangled dandelion. Nice detail throughout the weed....er plant :).

Very nice result, Phil. I like the sort of balancing act between the stem and the seeds.

Phil:
I am like all the textured images you have posted and keen to try them at some stage. Really adds a lot to the look, feel and mood of the image. Look forward to seeing more.

Great comp and choice of background/filters. To me this looks very Native American.
